I've just started illustrating a children's book for Funtastic! This is my first big illustrating job, and I'm stoked that I got it.
A while ago I sent out a whole bunch of illustration samples to heaps of children's publishers around the country, and after weeks of hardly hearing anything back, I got the job through a chance encounter with an editor from a publisher I hadn't even considered. Things have a funny of working out sometimes.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to post any work in progress from the book, but I'll sure as hell let you all know when it gets published. At this stage, it looks like it won't happen until September, even though my deadline is mid-May. I had no idea it took that long to get a book out there.
Incidentally, Funtastic is the largest toy company in Australia...

For some reason I'm really excited about the movie coming out this week. I know in my heart that it will probably suck, but my inner eight year old keeps squealing with delight.
And that is awesome news, dude! I can't wait to hear more about it as you're allowed to tell us.
