New "Threadless" shirt design!

After being rejected for a previous design, I've decided once again to submit something to Threadless.

I'm still waiting on approval before anyone will be able to vote on it, but that should be happening pretty soon.

This is something I did for the job I'm working on at the moment. I don't usually do stuff like this, but they asked for a more "realistic" style for a particular page. This was about all the realism I could muster:

My Buddy Jesus!

Here's a character design sketch for one of my many potential projects. I just came up with this one today, although there are plenty of others that I've been thinking about for a while. This is still in the embryonic stage, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be called "My Buddy Jesus!"

Just looking at it again, I think the beard may come off.

Since last I wrote, I have been and returned to/from balmy Darwin. It was fantastic!

I took some precious time out from work this evening to draw something just for funs. In honour of the 30th anniversary of Star Wars this year, I decided to do a little tribute pic of everybody's second favourite scoundrel, Lando Calrissian:

I found this really cool site that generates colour palettes of images you input. I stuck in a few of my drawings. Here's what came out of it:

I've been real busy with work lately. I got a job illustrating a bunch of text books for little kids. Basic stuff like counting and spelling. I just found out the deadline is a lot sooner than I originally expected. The ladybug above is from the "Maths Skills" book I'm working on at the moment.

Here's a convenient update in convenient point-form for your convenience.

- In-between paid illustrating jobs at the moment. Next one should start next week. But I've got some interesting free work to keep me busy.

- Started going to the gym yesterday. I was putting it off until I got an MP3 player so that 1. I didn't have to listen to the ridiculously loud techno they pump and 2. so that nobody tried talk me into buying a 30kg barrel of protein powder. I felt real good after the workout yesterday, but SHIT am I feeling it today.

- Going to Darwin in about a month's time! Looking forward to seeing the girlf and kickin' it North Side. Represent.

- It's the first day of winter. It's been shit cold here lately, but I've been putting off turning on the heater until winter. Call it carbon conservation, if you want. I call it mild OCD.

That's about it I think. I'm generally happy. Going to meet Louie and Unit in the city for lunch at this place where you pay to MAKE YOUR OWN SANDWICH. Apparently you pay based on how much it weighs when you're done.

I'm bringing my chequebook LOL!
